History
Casual Movements is a small family owned company that has been bringing positive vibrations to people all over the world for over 30 years. We are based on the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawaii. Even though we are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, we love to connect with people from all over the world.
Silk
All of our silk sarongs are 100% silk and handpicked by our buyers in Indonesia. The designs have been exclusively printed on silk by Casual Movements. They are often known as the highest quality fabric for sarongs because of their amazing soft and smooth feel against the skin. The silk is also very lightweight allowing the fabric to breath and keep its wearer cool and sexy. Silk sarongs also have the unique versatility of being worn for casual days into elegant nights. Remember it’s okay to get them wet!
Hand Painted Rayon
These sarongs were all hand painted by expert artisans in Indonesia. They often have the most vibrant colors and double as great wall hangings. Each portrait is done on a high quality rayon, known as premium rayon. It is often described as being “thicker” or having a “heavy weight quality” compared to standard rayon. This is an attractive ideal for consumers looking for higher quality sarong fabric that is less transparent in the light and often lasts longer! And for those who don’t know, rayon is a natural fiber made from tree bark.
Premium Rayon
Premium rayon is often described as being “thicker” or having a “heavy weight quality” compared to standard rayon. It has a higher, denser thread count. This is often an attractive ideal for consumers looking for higher quality sarong fabric that is less transparent in the light and often lasts longer! And for those who don’t know, rayon is a natural fiber made from tree bark.
Standard Rayon
The most common type of sarong is made of standard rayon. It is a thin, soft, breathable fabric made from tree bark. They are the most popular type of sarong, frequently used as beach wraps, dresses, baby carriers, scarves, curtains, tablecloths or any idea you can think of!
Rayon Knit
Rayon knit has recently been introduced to our sarong family for a limited time! It both thinner than premium rayon, yet thicker than standard rayon. The benefit of this fabric, is that it can stretch and drapes beautifully! Having stretchy fabric allows more freedom to create countless styles! This sarong will form around you like a glove, similar to that favorite pair of jeans you own without the worry of always fitting into them!
