Aloha!
Welcome to the Hula ‘Oni E website where you’ll find all things about this annual hula festival and craft fair.
Presented by Hālau Hula ʻO Hokulani, this year's event marks its 32nd year and prides itself on perpetuating hula traditions and culture for practitioners and spectators alike. The three-day festival takes place at the Coral Ballroom, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikīkī from September 4-6, 2026.
Hula hālau from O’ahu, Kaua’i, Maui, Hawai’i Island and Japan will be participating in the festival hula contest. The festival craft fair has grown to over 75 local vendors from across the State of Hawaiʻi showcasing Hawai’i-made products and community artisanship. While the hula festival requires a ticket, the craft fair is free and open to the public.
Founded by nā kumu hula Hokulani & Larry DeRego, Hula ‘Oni E perpetuates aloha, hula, Native Hawaiian culture & the arts. The first Hula ʻOni E Hula Festival was held at the Hilton in 1992. Hula ʻOni E also takes place in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan; and in Vienna, Austria.
